Butter Knife– to insert under your beading (this mimics the thickness of the brackets used and gives you a rough idea if the brackets have room to fit.)

Checking If Your Windows Are Suitable

Using a butter knife, locate the beading on the edge of the window. Slide the knife between the beading and the glass in the window as far as it will go.

Perfect Fit© Shutters are not suitable for windows with square beading.

A clearance of 23mm is required for the overlap of the blind.

Bead Depth:-
Measure the depth from your visible glass to the edge of your window frame, using a ruler or depth gauge to assist. This measurement is the brackets you will choose.
A bead depth of at least 20mm is required.

Measuring Your Windows

Width & Drop:-

Measure the visible glass of the window at the top, middle and bottom, to the nearest millimetre. Take the smallest of these three measurements, this measurement will be your width.

Repeat this at the left, right, and middle for the drop.

Handle Inserts:-

To measure for your window handle insert, it's super simple!

Handle is on the Left or Right:-Measure from bottom edge of the visible glass, up to the centre turn point of the window handle.

Handle is on the Bottom:- This time, measure from the left side of the visible glass, to the centre of the turning point of your handle.

The inserts central point will match your measurements given.

Clearances & uPVC Doors

At its maximum projection from the glass, this projection is around 87mm from the glass of your window to the outside tilt rod. Please take this measurement into consideration if you want to fit the shutters on a door with a specific clearance.

The Perfect Fit Shutter frame uses a clearance overlap of 23mm. Please keep this in mind if you have obstructions such as vents. Please give us a call to assist you further.

Child Safety.

Even though Perfect Fit© shutters are child safe by design as with all window dressings, they still pose a risk if used unsafely or installed in an unsafe location. To ensure your shutter is as safe as possible, please ensure all beds, cots, or furniture that can be climbed is moved away from the window. While the shutters do pose minimal risk in regard to choking or strangulation, they can still be pulled off the brackets and cause a risk of crushing or injury. If the shutter is pulled from the frame, ensure there is no damage, and push the frame back onto your brackets.
